Lili & Susie - interview

1. Congratulations on your new song Would you be mine! What inspired you to make such an energetic song?

Lili; In all the years we have played live, we have been asked by the
audience and fans; why cannot I hear your voice resources on the disc that you let live? Also a reason why we now wanted to bring out the personalities more and get more edge and energy in the sound both in terms of voices but also musically.

2. You are a duo who has stayed on the music scene since the 80´s`. In
your opinion what has changed over the years in music industry? Has it gone better or for worse?

Susie: Well the difference is great and it's very tough today but the
network has opened up to release music in an easy way, so there are both advantages and disadvantages.

Lili: In the eighties it was easier to establish artists than today, then you
got a longer-term collaboration with record labels and more time to take hold on to the duo .

Lili &Susie. Today, all is much faster and many times we know just how the song goes but no idea how the artist looks like, and just like that it's somebody new that pops up. It's a big media buzz today and harder to reach out.

3. Why do you think that 80´s music continues to be so popular after all
these years?

Susie: Lots of good music came in the 80's and great artists
that got their breakthrough as acts.

Lili: The thing that Susie describes but also throughout the eighties with
fashion and music took hold of the public.

4. Which artists or bands are your current favorites? And why?

Susie; Oops difficult there is so much good music. Right now I want to
listen to Johnny Cash and Hurt ... really great song.

Lili: I am omnivore, very jazz right now, Michael Bubble and others but I
also like listening to ballads and everything you can dance to, I love to dance and workout to great music!

5. If you had the power to do a song with any artist, who would that be?

Susie: Also hard, but to work with, for example, Springsteen and Peter
Gabriel would be an honor.

Lili:
Prince, he has always been a performer as both are phenomenal
live, but also on disc.

6. Is it easier to be in a group with your own sister or do you have
disagreements?

Susie: I like to work both solo and as Lili & Susie and you just have to
be able to cooperate and be responsive to each other to make it work. Mutual respect.

Lili: It's probably both, when you are solo artist so you never need to
take account of the band members, for example, but it's also really fun to have someone to share with and  work out good things together.

7. Electronic dance music (EDM) is the sound of now. Do you have
pressure to do certain kind of songs? Like in the style of Avicii, Swedish house mafia etc?

Susie: Always fun to try new ways just to do it in your own way and
with own attitude and personality. Easily could just be a worse copy.

Lili: No, we do not feel that it's something we have to live up to, but
fun to drop good dance remixes like our upcoming on Would you be mine

8. Is there going to be a new album? And if yes, what kind of album its
going to be?

Susie: Maybe if everything runs OK so we are aiming for an album. If it
becomes so, EDGY good pop and strong choruses!

Lili: If it turns out well with any of the three singles we supposed to
release so it can be so, so, it will build on the sound we are now on but also cruel dance remixes as well as Susie writes strong pop songs!
