Carol Jiani -interview
1. As an artist who has been around a couple of decades, what keeps you going?
Music
is such a powerful tool it saved my life.I was lucky to have started my
career when i did the Grand old days of studio 54.We had great melodies
in those days.We worked hard to perfect our gifts . So really I am
passionate about music and I am using that asa tool to help the youth in
Africa and here that is what keeps me going giving back .
2. What kind of music do you listen? Do you have favorite artists?
I love ballads i love Tina Turner. Teddy Pendergrass,Millie Jackson, Mavis Staple.
3. You released an album (Superstar) in Canada in 1996. It was very
eurodance influenced. Why it was released only in Canada and was it
succesful?
Yes it was
successful around the clubs .Times have changed really and one of the
labels that took over the release went bankrupt so that really is what
happened.
4. Superstar was your last album release. Is there going to be an album in the near future?
Yes I am working on a Disco Album for my loyal fans and to say thank you for the many years of support.
5. You recorded a song Are you man enough with another
Hi-nrg superstar Evelyn Thomas. How was it like? Would you like to work
with her again in the future ?
It
was a great song and a dream come true for me to record with another
well known artist .High Energy was a huge hit for Evelyn so it was cool
to record with her. Hey you never know what the future holds as long as
we are all still alive we will keep singing.
6. How do you see the
current EDM (Electronic dance music) phenomena? Dance music is
conquering the charts. Is it all good or is there something bad also?
It is all good for me it is indeed remember as long as we have the music we will all be ok.
7. Youre obviously quite popular among gay crowd. Why do you think that divas like your self :-) appeal to gay men?
Very
simply we love to be happy we love music we love to party and have a
great time. Life is for living and yet short so we must appreciate how
precious life is and that is the key the link.
