Die Antwoord: Tension review

Tension is second album from the South African hiphop/rave group Die Antwoord. I must say I had many expectations because I loved the first album truly with its popculture references for example sampling Bronski Beats Hit that perfect beat.

While the new album doesnt completely satisfy, it has its moments. For example I fink u freeky and Baby´s on fire are great pastiches of 90´s ravemusic. U make a ninja wanna fuck and Never Le Nkemise take their energy from trance-like uplifting riffs. The most hiphoppish songs are also well done and you wont get bored.

But the big issue with this, is the length of the album which is under 40 minutes. And few of the interludes should have been made into real songs.
But having said that, Die Antwoord really cranks up the weirdness to the same level as the previous album. Really enjoyable and in your face!
