Robbie Williams: Take the crown - review

It was interesting to listen to this because this is the first album after Robbies visitation in his old band Take That. I assumed that this album is more dancemusic because Take Thats last album was basically an dance album.

The first single from Take the crown was a quite cheesy pop song called Candy. It really doesnt feel like a Robbie song, it hasnt got that kind of edge. Fortunately there are other songs that are right up his alley like Shit on the radio.

Although this couldnt be categorised as a dancealbum, there are quite dancey tunes like the Coldplayesque synthdriver Be a boy and a rock dance tune Hey wow yeah yeah which reminds me of Take That song SOS.

On the downside this is not as good as Rudebox was. Seems like Robbie missed the idea on this one. This should have been either dance OR rockalbum, now it´s like a fusion of both which doesnt work so well.

Hopefully we´ll get more of that cheeky masculine stuff later from Robbie. This isnt the album that everybodys going to remember...
