Sandra: Stay in touch -review

When I first heard Sandras first single from this album, Maybe tonight, I was blown away. Producers Blank & Jones had done a wonderful song imitating the best works of Sandra from the 80´s. And when somebody imitates 80´s so perfectly, you have to give them a standing ovation. Of course I started to dream that they would produce a whole album from Sandra with the same sound. And behold, my dream came true!!!

The likes of Goldfrapp and La Roux have done their best to capture the feeling and the sound of synthpop in their songs but B & J really take this to the next level. The album has references to Sandras previous hits but also to other 80´s hits. For example Stay in touch has its roots in Evelyn Thomas´ High energy.

Every song has a good solid refrain and a very strong feeling of the 80´s. It´s like the whole era is condensed into this album. It has musical depth and feeling that is rare nowadays. It also has the feeling that these songs have really been composed unlike many pop songs today.

As a child of the 80´s this is a pure musical orgasm and can´t say anything negative about this. At the age of 50, Sandra shows that she has the courage to go back to her roots. In my opinion, Stay in touch is the best album Sandra has ever released and is probably the best album of 2012.

I give 5/5 stars.
