MS Project -interview

 1. Who is Ms Project and where are you from?


MS Project was founded in 2005 by me and Antoine Blanc, we are from France near Paris. Since 2009 i'm alone under the name MS PROJECT, even Antoine Blanc still participate in some productions like in the new single "When the night..." where he sings all vocals. We release 2 singles Top 3 of the charts in 2006 and 2009 and MS Project released the albums "The 80s remixes Collection Vol 1 & 2 in 2011 and 2014, also POP FRANCE 80 in 2013. I've worked and produced 2 albums for Bad Boys Blue in 2008 (Heart and soul) and 2010 "25" and i've worked also and produced tracks for Linda Jo Rizzo, FR David, Gibsons Brothers, Leee John (Imagination), David Christie, Tina Charles, Ryan Paris, Ken Laszlo, Michael Fortunati, System in blue.... 


2. Why do you think that 80´s music is still so popular?

80s Music is so popular cos it was intense years of creation with the arrival of synthesizers, keyboards and computers in the music. The 80s were time of so creative bands like Kraftwerk, OMD... It was also a time where melodies were really important more than gimmicks or hooks like in the 90s. People know by heart the melodies and refrains of the hits of those times. 


3. Which artists do you look up to?

My references are various, i was not fan of bands but more of the "sound" of producers like Alan Parsons, Michael Cretu, Dieter Bohlen , Tony Hendrick (producer of Bad Boys Blue, Haddaway...), David Foster... I like also to listening to bands like Chicago and his vocalist Peter Cetera, but also Queen, George Michael, Air Supply, Modern Talking and Thomas Anders (amazing singer), BBB, OMD... 


4. What inspired you to remix 80´s classics?

 My Collection "The 80s Remixes Collection" is inspired by the work i've done with so many artists of the 80s. After working with Bad Boys Blue in 2006, i've been in touch with lot of 80s artists and the idea comes to me to remix anthems for the 80s keeping the soul of the 80s mixed with the sound of today with the featuring of the original artists. The Vol 2 had just been released in more than 20 countries physically and worldwide digitaly with Bad Boys Blue, Linda Jo Rizzo, Joy, Ken Laszlo, Magazine 60, Miko Mission.... A vol 3 will be released before the summer and a vol 4 in the beginning of 2015. 


5. How do you think the Internet has changed the music industry? For better or for worse? 

 Internet gave to all lot of freedom in creativity and the possibility to make yourself known more easily but it has killed also a part of the musical industry and the piracy is a real nightmare for all producers.


6. Are you going to make an Ms Project artist album? 

MS Project always have had original songs cos i'm not only a remixer and producer, i'm also a musician with 15 years of piano and a composer. Our 1st single in 2005 was called "I wanna be in love" .It was an original song written by me and Antoine Blanc, we had also an another original song called "All around" featured on the vol 1 of "the 80s remixes collection" that became a duet between Linda Jo Rizzo and Ryan Paris. Today my last song "When the night..." is a totally new original song i've written, arranged and produced and Antoine Blanc sings. The song has charted in Spain and reached the N°1 in a big radio station in Catalogne (Barcelona). So yes i'm working on new songs and i hope to release soon an album with only new songs, the next single of MS PROJECT will be a new song called "la femme" written by me and RYAN PARIS and sung by Ryan Paris. 


7. Are there any special artists you would like to work together with?


 If somebody told me 20 years ago that i'll work for Bad Boys Blue and with all the artists i've worked and i'm still working with and also that i will be signed to a major label like i've done in 2005 with EMI would never believe it !!. But yes i would like to work one day with Thomas Anders the ex singer of Modern Talking, i´ve always loved his voice and this guy is incredible ! 


8. What the future holds for you? More remixes? 


The Future is the release of "Top Club 80 Remixes" a kind of Best of for France of all my remixes. After it's the release of "The 80s remixes collection vol 3" and the work on the new Bad Boys Blue Album.
