Infected Mushroom: Army of mushrooms -review

Psytrance is not my cup of tea, so this album was a big leap for me. But to my suprise, this doesnt contain much of that genre...Infected Mushroom has spread their wings and tried some other electronic genres that are hot right now, like dubstep and electrohouse.  This Israeli project really work their own unique interpretations of todays genres.

Army of mushrooms isnt your typical dancealbum. Lots of twists and turns, chances of pace, unexpected sounds...Wow. 12 songs and almost 80 minutes is a lot concerning that this contains a lot of stuff. I couldn´t have enjoyed this album so much if this had been full of psytrance.

Having said that, there are traces of psy all around. Which in this case is a good thing. Even dubstep gets the "psy treatment" which makes it sound more alive than for a long time.

Standouts on this album are the first song Never mind, which is a great opener and the last one The Messenger 2012, which delivers a psychedelic end to this musical journey.

This album or music is really not for everyone, but if youre willing to lift your head up from the typical US monotone dancecrap, you will learn that the pearls are for you to take, if you just even try to find them :-)
