Future Brain: 2 -review

Happy New Year 2013! It´s time for this years first review and it shall be Future Brain: 2. The Estonian italodisco duo has released their second album quickly after the first one Esimene album.

 2 consists of only 6 songs with interlude in the middle. So the composition is reminescent of 80´s albums which had few songs but they were long.The 80´s is clearly visible in every song like in the Esimene album.

It has been a great decision to make this an instrumental album, because the vocals didnt quite work out in the previous installment. They were out of tune and badly sung. By losing the vocals the music is breathing new life.

I see that FB has evolved from italo disco sound to a more broader 80´s expression. Don´t get me wrong, the italo elements are there but as subtle references. In the first album, the melodies were on the foreground but now they have paid attention more to the whole structure. This really adds depth and makes this an album you really wanna listen again and again.

FB has really evolved between these two albums in a brief period of time. I really want to hear what they have in store for album number three.
