Little Boots: Nocturnes -review

Once in a while comes an album that truly suprises. Thats the deal with Little Boots second album. The first one (Hands in 2009) was a shallow popalbum (in the vain of Lady Gaga) with producers like Greg Kurstin, and this second one is truly something else.

Nocturnes covers everything from trance to house to synthpop with a warmth and understanding you rarely see in albums today. From the opener, tranceish Motorway,  to the euphoric Satellite, Nocturnes is joyride and an homage to times when music really mattered and had meaning.

There are hints of Saint Etienne (Victoria has probably listened their latest album from 2012..a lot.) and even Madonna gets a nod with Everytime I say a prayer with Vogue-like pianos.

Rarely you see such big growth in an artist. This has been brewing for years in her mind and it shows. This a  fantastic journey for all who appreciate dance music in all its forms and dont wanna live in world where music is empty bits in cyberspace.

I give 5/5 stars.
